Barclay, Samuel

Samuel Barclay was present at the James Street Jetty amidst a group of Esperance municipal representatives to greet Governor Bedford upon his arrival in Esperance in 1904.

Samuel Barclay was a storekeeper, he took over the store from his father in law D.M. Peek and later sold to P.J. Blake. Samuel Barclay also served on the Esperance Roads Board in 1905.

Esperance Chronicle 3rd April 1896 reported.

An Esperance Football team was formed, named “juniors”.

In June 1897, a  football Association was formed;
